He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilford Melvin Pope and Minnie Pearl Hutto Pope; his wife Patricia Fiquett Pope; his son Tommy Darrell Pope; his granddaughter Jayden Stone; and his siblings, Melvin Pope, Ben Pope, Paul Pope, Mark Pope, Jerrie Davis, Sue Poss and Polly Ann Pope.
He is survived by: his children, Dannell Fogal (James) of Auburn, AL and Patrick Pope (Lois) of Cataula, GA; his stepsons, Ricky Stone (Alissa) of Midland, GA and Jason Stone (Carmen) of Columbus; his sister Janet Childs (Daniel) of Cleveland, TN; his siblings-in-law, Shelby Pope of Bonifay, FL, Brenda Fiquett of Columbus, GA, Brenda Smith (Bo) of Milton, FL, Morris Fiquett of Columbus, GA and Glenn McDaniel (Melinda) of Columbus, GA; and his grandchildren, Khelsi Stone, Abby Stone, Kennedy Stone, Autumn Stone, Olivia Pope, Connor Fogal, Tucker Stone, Logan Fogal, Adam Pope and Luke Pope. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory (3874 Gentian Blvd, Columbus, GA 31907). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
