He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dorsey Shelnutt and Grace Richardson Shelnutt; his children, Dustin Shelnutt and Angela Hope Shelnutt; and his siblings, Faye Leonard, Lila Whitaker, Genelle Shelnutt, Gail Higgins, Buck Shelnutt, Paul Shelnutt, Dean Shelnutt, Sr. and Bobby Shelnutt.
He is survived by: his son Cory Paul Shelnutt of Franklin; his grandchildren, Troy Shelnutt, Hollis Shelnutt and Lake Shelnutt; his siblings, Ann McCord (Danny) of Woodland, Blake Shelnutt of LaGrange and Brack Shelnutt (Lawanna) of Woodland; and his nephew Curtis Leonard, Jr.. He is also survived by other nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
