It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dewayne Gipson of Franklin, Georgia, who passed away on July 2, 2025, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Gipson, Jr. and Barbara McDaniel Gipson; his son Dewayne Carter Gipson, Jr.; and his siblings, Patricia Purkey and Eddie Gipson.

He is survived by: his children, James H. Gipson (Leslie), Sara Gipson, Thomas Gipson and Desire Jones (Lex); his grandchildren, Hunter, Wyatt, Rylee, Asa, Abby, Layne, Scarlett, Bubba and Maple; his brothers, James Q. Gipson and Danny Gipson (Denise); and his sister-in-law Sandra Gipson. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.

“Just Breaks my heart that my Baby Brother Dewayne passed, He and I was always very close despite long periods of time we didn't see each other. We recently lost our sister Patrica and now brother Dewayne. Being the oldest of 5 mom and dad taught us to be strong and love not just each other but to concept and importance of family. Dewayne was a very loving and caring man and would give even when it hurt. He had an infectious smile and laugh. We grew up in the best times of our Country, love you.”
