It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Matt Awbrey of Franklin, Georgia, who passed away at the age of 64, on May 8, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Almon Awbrey and Carolyn Mildred Sewell Awbrey; his sister-in-law Jackie Awbrey; and his nephews, Donnie Awbrey and Zack Daniel.

He is survived by: his wife Jessica Awbrey of Franklin; his children, Maria Bella Awbrey of Franklin and Trevor Nunis (Tatum) of Hognsville; his grandson Ryder Nunis; his siblings, Jean Toney (Gene) of Franklin, Don Awbrey of Franklin and Gregg Awbrey (Dee) of LaGrange; his niece Brandy Cook; and his grandmother Martha Florence Hendrix. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Glenloch Baptist Church (2807 Glenloch Rd, Franklin, GA 30217). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Pam Awbrey wrote a sympathy message

“I have not seen Matt since he was a little boy. He used to keep me and Margaret entertained. I can remember him loving "Ruby burgers". He could eat 8 or 10 when he was around 10 or 11 years old. My son, Michael is also a truck driver. He has been driving for around 27 years. I saw the video made at the truck rodeo. Matt left quite a legacy in the trucking industry. I know his family will miss him. My prayers and thoughts are with you. I am Pam Awbrey, David Awbrey's wife.”
