He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Shafer and Mary Hawthorne Shafer. He is survived by: his wife Donna Meadows Shafer; his children, David Wayne Shafer, Kevin Zachary Shafer and Christine Nicole Shafer (Colby Gevas); and his granddaughter Calista Soraya Gevas. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
