He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Spain; his parents, Hubert Spain and Ella Spain; and his siblings, James Spain and Nellie Faye Gibbs.
He is survived by: his children, Sherry Baker (Mickey) of Marietta and Steve Spain of Gainesville; and his grandchildren, Casey Baker of Acworth and Erin O'Connor (Nicholas) of Jacksonville, Florida.
