He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin LaFoy and Bonnie Brown Heaton; his mother-in-law Drusella Dyer Roberts; and his brother-in-law Timothy Rail. He is survived by: his wife Felicia Heaton (Lisa); his children, Morgan Heaton and Kyle Heaton; his grandchildren, Silas and Ruthie Heaton; his sister Karen Rail; his nieces, Kacey Headrick (Bryan) and Kristi Rail; and his great-nieces, Lauren and Faith Headrick.
