He was predeceased by: his wife Gloria Martinez; and his children, Rosaba Martinez and Juan Daniel Martinez. He is survived by: his children, Gilbert Martinez, Christina Martinez, Terri Martinez and Allexies Martinez; and his sister Christina Maldonado. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
