We announce the death of James Luther Chester Jr. of Gainesville, Georgia, who passed away on September 10, 2026, at the age of 80. James will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Luther Chester, Sr. and Mary Lou Chester (Parks); and his sisters, Frankie Odom and Joyce Ravan. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Chester (Wilbanks); his children, Jamie Chester Burtz and Jason Chester; his grandchildren, Betsy Burtz Satterfield, Dylan Burtz, Ansley, Alyssa Chester, Jacob Chester and C. J. Chester; his great grandchildren, Scout Satterfield and Knox Satterfield; and his sister Joan Beasley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Memorial Park Riverside Chapel, Riverside Drive (989 Riverside Dr, Gainesville, GA 30501). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
