He was predeceased by: his parents, John Elisha Murphy and Annie Caroline Talley Murphy; and his siblings, Mary Hazel Smith, Bessie Whitlow, Edna McCrary Stover, Marion Murphy (Buster), Millard Murphy (Cricket), Paul Murphy and Clarence Murphy.
He is survived by: his pet Joe; and his brother John Murphy Jr. of Gainesville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
