With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ricky Bales of Gainesville, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 7, 2025 at the age of 71. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gene Austin and Donia Bell Tumlin Bales; and his brother Kenneth Gene Bales. He is survived by: his children, April Murphy, Katie Dover, Ricky Bales Jr., Kayla Sanders and Jesse Bales; his brother Jimmy Lewis; his sister-in-law Jeanette Bales; his brothers, Fred Daniel Bales and Winford Dean Bales; his sister-in-law Carolyn B. Collins; his cousin Neal "Bo" (Drenda Greer); his caregiver Melissa Riddle; and his close friend Kenneth "Kenny" Gaddis. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
