He is survived by: his wife Susan Latrelle Samples; his children, Lori Ann Carter and Thomas Larry Samples; his grandchildren, Shanna Mae Carter, William Lane Carter, Hannah Kate Carter, Trey Barksdale Carter, Avery Ann Carter, Chaysten Ray Carter and Lola Jane Carter; and his siblings, Elaine Magnus and Kenneth Samples. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews he loved.
