He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Griswell and Georgia Walden Griswell; his brothers, Leroy, James, Gerald and Tommy Griswell; and his great grandchild Nevaeh Faith Griswell.
He is survived by: his wife Tammy Griswell; his children, James Wall (Rachel), Sandy Tharpe (Russell), Beverly Avery (Roger), Jennifer Reeves (Al) and Jason Hinkle; his grandchildren, Dillon Griswell (Colby), Morgan Rawlins, Alyson Carter (Dylan), Jay Marshall (Kayla), Walker Tharpe (Victoria), Breana Jones (Kyle), Bailey Deraney (Luke), Bethany Burroughs (Taylor), Shelby Hinkle, Nirvana Hinkle, Shelby Wall, Madison Wall and Luke Wall; and his sisters, Gloria Beckworth (Joe), Cherry Ybanez and Donna Thigpen. He is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Taylor Funeral Home-Gibson (57 College St, Gibson, GA 30810). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
