She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Thomas "Tom" Mathis and Martha Sue Raley Mathis; and her siblings, Ruby Davis, Lamar "Charlie" Mathis, Harry Mathis, Tommy Mathis and Roy Mathis.
She is survived by: her husband John Lee "J. L." Chalker of Gibson; and her daughter Robin Louise Chalker Hobbs (Mark) of Stapleton. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Taylor Funeral Home-Gibson (57 College St, Gibson, GA 30810). A burial was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at the Gibson City Cemetery (01 Church Street, Gibson, GA 30810).
