It is with sadness that the passing of John Layon Dale of Gillsville, Georgia is shared. John, born on November 13, 1937, passed away on October 4, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Sam Dale; his wife Jeanette Millwood Dale (Big John); his son Richard Dale; his mother Hannah Brock Dale; and his siblings, Omie Dale, Mollie Dale, Lorine Dale, Margie Dale of Eva Perdue, J. C, Dale, Nervie Turpin, Merle Sims, Mildred Lewallen, Marshall Dale, Jean Whitehead and Samuel Dale.
He is survived by: his children, Mike Dale (Penny), Johnna Cole (Jimmy), Todd Dale (Rebecca) and Tonya Daniel (James); his grandchildren, Keenan Cole (Erica), Ashley Chambers (Robert), Amber Dale, Dustin Cole (Misty), Ariel Daniel (Johnathan), Kaitlyn Leiro (Kaymani), Laylon Daniel and Jathan Dale; his great grandchildren, Josey Chambers, Kinleigh Ledford, Sawyer Chambers, Colt Ledford, Jules Rego, Raelynn Rego and Kaizen Leiro; his siblings-in-law, Wilma Dale, Peggy Dale and Robert Whitehead; and his niece Wanda Buffington. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home (355 Dawsonville Hwy, Gainesville, GA 30501). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Midway Church of Gillsville (6420 GA-52, Gillsville, GA 30543).
