With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Nelson Edgar McIntyre of Gillsville, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 7, 2025 at the age of 81. As Nelson Edgar departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Nelson Edgar. Though Nelson Edgar may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde McIntyre and Edith Adams; and his wife Bonnie Sue Moore McIntyre. He is survived by: his children, Dwayne McIntyre of Maysville and Misty McIntyre of Gillsville; and his sisters, Kathy Moore of Loganville, Geneva Anderson of Dawsonville and Jean Pugh of Flowery Branch. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Little-Ward Funeral Home (115 State St, Commerce, GA 30529). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home (115 State St, Commerce, GA 30529). A burial was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at the Sunrise Cemetery.
