He was predeceased by: his parents, Bishop Sam Joseph Calhoun and Louise Coley; and his stepmother Mary Lizzie Calhoun. He is survived by: his wife Mildred J. Calhoun; his grandchildren, Jamond Calhoun, Jermaine Calhoun, Semetria Calhoun, Tavoris Calhoun and Byron Davis; his great grandchild DeShaun Davis; his siblings, Doris Nunley, Pardine Coley, Gladys Lee, Delois Coley and Catherine Coley; his close friends, Mary Ann Davis and Gladys Mincey; his children, Lois Mae Bacon of Reidsville, Jettie Mae Calhoun of Reidsville, Terry Calhoun (Cynthia) of Reidsville, Cheryl Manning (Raymond) of Reidsville, Sonnie Calhoun of Reidsville, Larry Calhoun of Reidsville and Lillian Walker (Willie) of Reidsville; his stepchildren, Annette McKinnon (Elis) of Reidsville, George Johnson (Mary) of Glennville, Linda Johnson of Glennville, Billy Johnson (Zella) of Glennville and Ricky Johnson of Glennville; and his close friend Herbert Smith of Reidsville. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
