He was predeceased by: his parents, Jackie Bateman Lindsey and Ronald Bateman; and his brother Wayne Bateman. He is survived by: his wife Melinda Ann Smith (Bateman); his sons, Ken Bateman of Knoxville, TN and Alan Bateman (Jessica) of Harriman, TN; his sister Judy Bateman Shepura (Brian O'Brian) of Birmingham, AL; his stepsiblings, Darrell Lindsey (Ruthie) of Johnson City, TN and Cheryl Lindsey Lezcano (Jorge) of Evanston, IL; and his stepchildren, Stephanie Thomas (Joseph) of Lawrenceville, GA and Will Tomberlin of Savannah, GA. He is also survived by 9 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
