She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Brock and Bertha Brock; her siblings, Sarah Gillespie and Clarence Brock; her former husband George Edward Cooper, Jr.; and her husband Dr. Earl Akery.

She is survived by: her children, Steve Akery (Melissa), Rita Millians (Wade), Ronda Matheny (Darrell) and Allen Akery. She is also survived by her stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.
