He was predeceased by: his wife Polly Greene Herndon; his parents, Wilbur Godwin and Dora Mae Godwin; and his great grandchild Karter Herndon. He is survived by: his children, Lori Haynes, Shawn Herndon (Melissa) and Devin Herndon (Cricket); his grandchildren, Shelby Watkins (James), Dustin Herndon (Marissa), Lacy Herndon, Dylan Herndon (Riley), Bryson Herndon, Austyn Herndon and Dakota Herndon; his great grandchildren, Christopher, Karsen, Jackson, Daxton, Dawson and Dutton; and his sister Blanche Bealsey.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Central Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
