He was predeceased by: his grandfather Al; his parents, Archie Dean and Rubye Lee Herndon of Snellville; his wife Winifred Mason Herndon of Grayson; his son Mark A. Herndon of Gainesville; and his siblings, Fred Herndon (Marge) of Illinois, A. D. Herndon (Elizabeth) of Snellville, Bill Herndon (Ruth) of Marietta, Edna Herndon Smith (LJ) of Tucker, Ken Herndon (Ruby) of Lithonia, Don Herndon (Katie) of Duluth, Buck Herndon (Julie) of Lilburn, John Stone of Orangeburg, SC, Gordon Harrison of Tucker and Jimmy Mason of Snellville.
He is survived by: his sisters, Betty Herndon Stone of Orangeburg, SC and Barbara Herndon Harrison of Tucker; his siblings-in-law, Wayne Mason (Ann) of Snellville and Gay Mason Ewing (Gary) of Snellville; his daughters, Sherry Herndon Patton (Jimmy) of Good Hope and Lisa Herndon Crowe (Sam) of Loganville; his daughter-in-law Kelly Herndon Patterson (Stacy) of Lawrenceville; and his grandchildren, Brad Crowe (Kelsey) of Alpharetta, Wynne Crowe Maddox (Doug) of Loganville, Lee Patton (Jessamy) of Arizona, Rob Patton (Megan) of Social Circle, Winston Herndon (Lisa Weatherald) of Atlanta, Adam Herndon (Melissa) of Braselton and Claire Herndon VanderVelde (Jacob) of Suwanee. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
