It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marianne Lough Volpert of Grayson, Georgia, who passed away on September 21, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rudolph Lough and Wilma Rose Lough (Evinger); her brother Philip Lough; her sister-in-law Sharon Volpert Sheets; and her nephew Donald Lough.
She is survived by: her husband Butch Volpert; her children, Beth Johansen (Eric) and Steve Volpert (Kim); her grandchildren, Drew Serrero, Alex Serrero, Benjamin Johansen, Gavin Johansen, Gini Johansen and Jackson Volpert; and her brother-in-law John Volpert (Paula).
In lieu of flowers, Marianne would have loved to see the Sharon Volpert Sheets Scholarship at her alma mater, Indiana State University, grow in scope.
