He was predeceased by: his parents, Cora Thomas McCuiston Phillips and Elbert Florice Phillips; his wife Lois Phillips; his son Dale Phillips; and his siblings, Evelyn Claxton, Evon Laubenstein, Patsy Phillips-Kollen and Jack Phillips.
He is survived by: his sons, Douglas Phillips (Margaret) of Greensboro, GA and Darrell Phillips of Greensboro, GA; his brother Michael Phillips; and his grandchildren, Kristin Passaglia (Matt), Matthew Phillips (Kimmy), Sam Phillips and Julie Kirk (Terry). He is also survived by eight great grandchildren; and many other relatives and close friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Alzheimer's Association or Walker United Methodist Church.
