He was predeceased by: his parents, Joann Peters Cole and Thomas Donald Cole. He is survived by: his wife Susan Cole of Greensboro, Georgia; his daughters, Kriston Marie Cole and Fallon Denise Cole (Cliff Johnson); his brother Thomas Wayne Cole; and his grandchildren, Riley Denise Johnson and Blake Thomas Maready. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
