He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Lee Pate and Lucille Pennington Pate; his wife Geraldine Holcomb; his son Benny Ray Pate; his grandson Nathan Pate; and his siblings, Edna Olene Lanier (James Durward Lanier), Haskel Lonnie Pate (Lora Hyche Pate) and Euphrates Albert Pate (Kate Kennedy Pate).
He is survived by: his daughter Nancy Gault of Smyrna, GA; his grandchildren, Daniel Pate (Laura Pate) of Smyrna, GA, Sara Caroline Gault Adcock (Asher Adcock) of Smyrna, GA, Geana Marie Gault of Chattanooga, TN and Alexandra Gault Walters (Tim Walters) of Roswell, GA.; his caregiver Linda Barnes; and his pet Nikki. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
