It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol e Layton of Griffin, Georgia, born in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on February 15, 2026, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Grady Merck and Margaret Bradford Merck (Garland B. Layton). She is survived by: her sons, Bryan Layton, Jr., Martin Layton (Liz) and Harold M. Layton (Beth); her grandchildren, Laurana Layton, Colin Layton, Josh Layton, Hudson Layton, Sara Kate Layton and Annie Layton; and her sister Doris Jenkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
