He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer H. Rider and Zelma Bearden Rider; and his brother Byron Rider. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Rider; his children, Pamela Chambers and Scotty Rider (Ginger); his grandchildren, Karlie Hammond (Dakota), Lacie Creel (Collin), Ryan Chambers and Abigail Chambers (Ashton Smith); his great grandchildren, Ryann Chambers, Rowann Chambers, Alaine Smith, Shiloh Creel, Memphis Creel and Koedan Hammond; his sisters, Susan Aleshire and Peggy Ballard; and his aunt Joyce Harris. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home (1891 W McIntosh Rd, Griffin, GA 30223). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home (1891 W McIntosh Rd, Griffin, GA 30223).
