It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David G. Newton (Griffin, Georgia), who passed away on September 6, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John T. Newton and Virginia Cheatham Newton; his siblings, John T. Newton, Jr. (Harriet) and Jan Newton Miller; his siblings' children, Ann Trammell Newton, Virginia Mooney Jones (Ryan), John Paul Bevilaqua and Franklin Kempton Mooney, Jr.; his great-nephew Wyck Jones; his close friend Whitney Wheaton; his sister Victoria Newton Mooney; and his nephews, John T. Newton, III and Matthew Newton Bevilaqua.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Griffin (106 W Taylor St, Griffin, GA 30223). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
