The memory of Dewilda Burch Wood (Griffin, Georgia), born in Broxton, Georgia, who passed away on May 27, 2025 at the age of 90, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her significant other Harvey Charles Wood; and her granddaughter Lacey A Hogan (Jason). She is survived by: her children, Wanda W Jones (Bobby Jones), Rhonda W Atkinson of Griffin, Andrea W Youngstrom (Tim Youngstrom) and John Mark Wood; her daughter-in-law Gina Wood of Fayetteville; her grandchildren, Kelley Atkinson, Matthew Atkinson (Taylor), Daniel Jones (Stacy), Joseph Jones (Rhianna), Benjamin Youngstom, T. Seth Youngtrom, Ella Wood and Sarah Wood; and her great grandchildren, Ezra Jones, Eva Jones, Elias Jones, Adalyn Atkinson, McCoy Atkinson, Caleb Jones, Hannah Jones and Michael Hogan. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of treasured friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Griffin (106 W Taylor St, Griffin, GA 30223). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church Endowment fund. Donations may be sent to First Baptist Church but should be made payable to FBC Endowment Foundation.
