He was predeceased by: his parents, James Thomas and Velma Christine Cassell Carter; his son Randy Thomas Carter; and his brothers, James "Jim" Carter and Rufus Nye.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Ann Hines Carter; his children, Donna Maines of McDonough, Keith Carter (Kim) of Locust Grove, Kimeula Carter of Griffin, Craig Carter (Dianna) of Senoia, Jonathan Carter (Kelly) of Griffin and Jhada Minko (Shane) of Columbus; and his sisters, Randi Pierro and June Thomure. He is also survived by thirty-four grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Westside Baptist Church (413 Brookwood Ave, Jackson, GA 30233). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
