He is survived by: his wife Tamala Owsley Tidwell; his children, DeAnna Scoggins (Brent), James Tidwell II (Shay), Thomas Sheppard, Brian Sheppard and Sonny Rivera (Devin); his grandchildren, Dalton, Luke, Ryder, Stormie, River, Reign and Bentley; and his siblings, Julie Merritt (Stony), Tim Tidwell (Misty) and Michael Tidwell (Mickie). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
