With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jo-Dee Sims Hortz of Griffin, Georgia, who passed away on December 3, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Harmon Sims and Mary Azelle Sims (Dee); her brother Michael George Sims; and her husband Charles F. Hortz Jr. (Chuck). She is survived by: her children, Jennifer Dee Ison Kenney and Thomas Jerry Ison, Jr. (Heather); her grandchildren, Kathryn Kenney Doss (Paul), Byron Keith Kenney (Madison) and Layla Grace Ison; her great grandchildren, Cora Elizabeth Doss, Ann Kathryn Doss and Isley Rae Kenney; and her nephew Joe Sims.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Conner-Westbury Funeral Home (1891 W McIntosh Rd, Griffin, GA 30223). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home (1891 W McIntosh Rd, Griffin, GA 30223).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Highland Methodist Church or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
