He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Emmons Sr. Dear; his siblings, Stephanie Mack (Walter) of Randolph, MA, Stephen Emmons of Boston, MA, Lynne Emmons-Boyd (Stephen) of Pocasset, MA, Cindy McKinnon (Christopher) of Rockland, MA, Sandi Brooks (James) of Arlington, MA and Laurie Bartee (Christopher) of Cambridge, MA.; and his niece Leslie Boyd.
He is survived by: his wife Roxann; his children, Mia, Shatoya Pacheco (Antonio) of Albany and Christian Bruton of Riverdale; his grandchildren, Amari, Jasiah, Alala, Christian Jr. and Camille; and his mother Carol Kozachuk (Ryles) of Cambridge. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
