He was predeceased by: his parents, James Willie Benford and Helen Elnora Woods Benford; and his son Thatcher Eugene Benford. He is survived by: his spouse Almer Ruth Holliday Benford; his children, Rebecca Lynn Jump of Eastman, James Willie Benford (Kenda) of Locust Grove, Ronald Dewayne Landrum (Christel) of Rockmart and Nina Kay Couch (Todd) of McDonough; his sister Barbara Jean Batchelor (Joe) of Perry; and his nieces, Jody Batchelor of Perry and Angie Quinn of Florida.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Haisten McCullough Funeral Home (1155 Everee Inn Rd, Griffin, GA 30224). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
