He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Robert Dunn and Mattie Callahan Dunn Graham; his brother Robert "Lanier" Dunn; his half-brother Melvin Dunn; and his former wife Linda Davis Dunn.

He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Dunn Silvert (Stan) and Lori Beth Dunn; his granddaughter Bridget Grace Silvert; his wife Sylvia Harris Elkins Dunn; his sister Sophia Swindle; and his stepbrothers, David and Kenneth Oliver. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
