He was predeceased by: his parents, Hoke Junior Smith and Mary Helen Chambers Smith; and his siblings, Mary Lou "Pixie" Smith, Taffey Lynn Dockery and Hoke Johnny Smith.
He is survived by: his close friend Melanie Mayers; his children, Latreena Rae Smith, Robert Eugene Smith, Jr., Kevin Tyler Smith, Allison Louise Ragusa (Bruce), Amber Leanne Parrott and Steven Culberson (Brittany); his stepsons, Mark Joseph Mayers and Samuel Jacob Sibils; and his siblings, Margaret Ann Smith and Joseph Lee Smith. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
