It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rosa Lillian Byrd (Griffin, Georgia), born in Fort Valley, Georgia, who passed away on January 13, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis John Holston and Otis Lee Powell Holston; her husband John Byrd; her siblings, Mary Evelyn Sullivan, Mattie L. Brown, John Wesley Holston, James Lewis Holston and Willie Matthew Holston; her siblings-in-law, Ida Baker Holston, Andrew Jackson "A. J." Sullivan and Sylvester Brown; her uncles, James "Bubba" Holston, Deacon Ernest Holston (Eunice) and Matthew Holston (Etta); her niece Lynda Darnell Sullivan; and her cousin Earl Holston.

She is survived by: her son Kenneth Lee Byrd (Antonia); her granddaughters, Kennethia Byrd and Andranana Miller; her sisters, Angela Holston Blanton and Gwendolyn Crawford; her aunt Mary Dobson; and her sister-in-law Bettye H. Holston. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
