He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joseph Schmitzer and Mary Elizabeth Thomas Schmitzer; and his siblings, Dave Schmitzer, Steve Schmitzer and Mary Lou Stallcamp.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl F. Schmitzer; his children, Thomas Schmitzer (Nena), Paul Schmitzer (Beth), Matthew Schmitzer (Kim), Jeff Clay, Chastity Voyles (Kris) and Damien Hurt (Shyanne); and his sisters, Barbara Calasante and Kathy Bowman. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist with expenses.
