It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verna Gwen Floyd Hearn of Griffin, Georgia, who passed away on August 9, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Green Walter Smith and Amos Burnette Smith; her former husband David Alton "Buddy" Floyd; and her daughter Mary Elizabeth Diaz. She is survived by: her husband Gene Hearn; and her children, Kerry Floyd (Teresa), Joel Floyd (Vicki), Jeffrey Floyd (Beth) and Chris Floyd (Janet). She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
