With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Skarzinski of Grovetown, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 8, 2025 at the age of 82. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Skarzinski to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Skarzinski and Mary Skarzinski; his brother Bill; his sister-in-law May Skarzinski; his sister Sylvia; his brother-in-law Art White; and his daughter-in-law Annette Hand.
He is survived by: his children, Richard "Yank" Hand, Jr. (Margaret Ann), Toni Moseley (David Brooks), Michelle Tapley (Mark) and Katie Rogers (Codey); his grandchildren, Richard Hand, III (Megan), Alan Jay Hand, Elaina Dannette Tuper, Boyce Lee Treadwell, III (Georgianna), Christopher Edward Treadwell (Ashley), Emily Grace Tapley and Annaleigha Grace Rogers; and his great grandchildren, Carson Hand, Charleigh Hand, Campbell Hand, Kylie Sibert, Lanee Treadwell, Eliza Treadwell, Garrett Treadwell, Crissy Treadwell, Christopher Treadwell, Carson Treadwell, Ethan Treadwell and Mia Proverizano.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Starling Funeral Home (435 W Milledgeville Rd, Harlem, GA 30814). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Skar by firing up the grill, fixing something that's been broken for too long, and raising a cold Bud to a life well-lived.
