We are sad to announce that on September 30, 2025, at the age of 74, James Edward Jackson Sr. of Guyton, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As James Edward departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though James Edward may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy James Edward leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Jackson and Henrietta Jackson; and his brother Dennis Jackson. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Jackson; his son James Jackson, Jr.; his granddaughter Dakota Jackson; his brothers, Greg Jackson (Carolyn) and Michael Jackson (Jean); and his sister-in-law Nancy D. Traywick (Craig Plumbley). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family, friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel (901 US-80, Pooler, GA 31322). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
