He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Carter and Frances Bohannon Carter; and his siblings, Stanley Carter, Pat Jeffers, Joyce Cooper, Jean Oliff and Frankie Williams (Larry).
He is survived by: his wife Martha Carter; his children, Marcia Heater (Dennis), Angela Wooley (Chuck) and Jesse Carter, Jr. (Jammie); his grandchildren, Asher Carter, Madison Lawson (Logan), Lore Carter, Colin Wooley and Hawksley Carter; his siblings, Jackie Carter (Becky), Dennis Carter (Teresa), Timmy Carter and Linda Carter; and his brothers-in-law, Randall Jeffers and Bobby Oliff. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Homes – West Chatham Chapel (901 US-80, Pooler, GA 31322). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Funeral Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Homes – West Chatham Chapel (901 US-80, Pooler, GA 31322). A burial will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at the Gravel Hill Cemetery.
