She was predeceased by : her parents, Jesse Leon Coleman and Frances Pye Coleman; her husband C. D. Dean, Jr.; her son-in-law Jonathan Bazemore; and her stepfather Marion.
She is survived by : her children, Devon Dean and Cynthia Dean Bazemore; her granddaughters, Carlie, Katie Bazemore and Jenna Roberson; and her siblings, John Slater and Lucy Thompson. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
