He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry Counts, Sr. and Anna Oree Davis Counts; his son Gary Counts; and his siblings, Pete Counts, William H. Counts, Jr. and Luerita Pierce.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Heidt Counts; his children, Amy Young, Joy Sapp, Thomas J. Counts, Arlene Taylor (Grady) and Suzanne Powell (Kenneth); his grandchildren, Hannah Grimes (Timothy) of Abigail Taylor, R. J, Young, Andrew Sapp, Megan Sapp, Josie Bryant (Chase), Heather Rafferty (Brian) and Michael Parks; and his great grandchildren, Isabella Rafferty and Laine Bryant. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery (121 Noel C Conaway Rd, Guyton, GA 31312).
