He was predeceased by: his father Harry H. Ellington; and his sister Venita Medders. He is survived by: his wife Brenda W. Ellington; his daughter Tara Canzon (Ken); his granddaughters, Kayden Canzon and Sydney Canzon; his mother Carol Anderson; and his brothers, Verdie Ellington (Debbie) and Vernon Ellington (Suzie). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.

A graveside service was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens (315 Greenwich Rd, Savannah, GA 31404).
