He is survived by: his wife Fidelis Thompson of Blairsville, GA; his children, George Thompson, Jr. of Dalton, GA, Scotty Thompson of Blairsville, GA and Cynthia Jones of Blairsville, GA; his grandchildren, Gavin Thompson, Alaina Clenent, Autumn Davis, Luna Thompson, Colby Jones, Noah Jones, Stratton Mcdougald and Harmony Rennie; and his great grandchildren, Coletee, Tommie, Blakely and Luca.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mountain View Funeral Home (78a Butternut Crossing, Blairsville, GA 30512). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 9:00 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (3717 GA-515, Blairsville, GA 30512).
