He was predeceased by : his parents, Miriam Baxley Parmer Charping and Marion Wilson Parmer; and his siblings, Lynette Tharpe and Ladon Parmer. He is survived by : his friend Brunswick; his wife Charlotte "Cha Cha" Parmer; his sister Lathaniel Wells; his children, Alan Parmer (Teri Medina), Karla Childree (Michael), Dana Hutto (Jeremy) and Jeremy Auestad; his grandchildren, Trey Childree (LeAnn), Chance Parmer, Caleb Padilla, Cameron Padilla, Kyler Manning, Braylen Childree and Madelyn Childree; and also Jayden Childree. He is also survived by his family, friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, May 13th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary (4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Parkhill Cemetery (4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907).
