He was predeceased by : his brother Thaddeus. He is survived by : his wife Constance Joan Taylor; his children, Hollye Goler and David Hudson (Tiffani); his grandchildren, Joshua Goler, Malcolm Goler, Alexis Hudson, Kyndall Hudson, Schylar Chapman and Quinn Hudson; and his great grandchild Zyair. He is also survived by other relatives, friends, and his church family.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Zion Missionary Baptist Church (888 Zion Cir, Roswell, GA 30075). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dr. Roy D. Hudson's memory may be made to Livingstone College, 701 W Monroe St, Salisbury, NC 28144, or Hampton University, 100 E Queen St, Hampton, VA 23669.
