She was predeceased by: her husband William Luther Dees; her daughter Luanne; her son-in-law David Lawler; and her granddaughter Leah Dees. She is survived by: her sons, Tom Dees (Diana), Danny Dees (Melba), Jake Dees (Tammy) and Howard Dees (Mitzie); her grandchildren, Melisa Kuhns (Chase), Jessica Griffin (Travis), Billy Dees (Regina), Jenny Hartzog (Greg), Kenneth Dees (Madison), Kelsey Clary (Timothy), Brooke King (Justin), Austin Herkel (Jennifer) and Will Dees (Katie); her great grandchildren, Penelope, Meredith, Danyele, Evelyn, Thomas, Brayden, Blake, Ethan, Nash, Jase, Eli, Paxton, Asher, Evan and Cohen; and her great great grandchildren, Braelynn and Stetson.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Harlem Methodist Church (115 W Milledgeville Rd, Harlem, GA 30814). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Margie Bennett Preschool of Harlem Methodist Church, P.O. Box 39, Harlem, Georgia 30814, in memory of Mrs. Jo.
