We are sad to announce that on April 9, 2024, at the age of 80, Alex Ralph McDowell of Hartwell, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, John T. McDowell and Ida Temples McDowell; and his siblings, J. T., Bob, Darrell McDowell, Sue Ellis, Belle Richardson, Lena Stone, Peggy Lipford and Joyce Crocker.
He is survived by : his wife Evelyn Marie Finley McDowell; his daughters, Kim Isbell (Ron) of Lavonia, Pam Dean of Cumming, GA and Dana Sanders of Hartwell; his siblings, Shem McDowell of Hartwell and Ruby Moss of Hartwell; his grandchildren, Jon Seay, Sarah Seay, Justin Sanders, Jack Dean and Luke Dean; and his great grandchildren, Laken Sanders and Ophelia Mazer. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Strickland Funeral Home-Hartwell (305 Cleveland Ave, Hartwell, GA 30643). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Hartwell Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home (305 Cleveland Ave, Hartwell, GA 30643).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Hart Co. Meals on Wheels c/o Hart Senior Center, 139 Clay St, Hartwell, GA 30643.
